Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent vibration absorbing effect against external force having a wide frequency range, by constituting a vibration absorbing device which is formed by connecting an additional mass to a main mass subjected to vibration exciting force, through a spring, with the use of a spring having non-linear resonance characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A principal arrangement of a vibration absorbing device is composed of a main spring system 1 and an auxiliary spring system 2, the main spring system 1 receiving a vibration exciting force F. The main spring system 1 is arranged such that a main mass 6 (mass: m1) is coupled to a vibration exciting force F input section 3 through the intermediary of a main spring 4 (spring constant: k1) and a damper 5 (damping coefficient: C1). The auxiliary spring system 2 is composed of an auxiliary spring 7 (spring constant: k2) and an auxiliary mass 8 (mass: m2). The auxiliary mass 8 is coupled to the main mass 6 through the auxiliary spring 7 so as to set the natural frequency of the auxiliary spring system 2 to a suitably value so as to lower the vibration of the main mass. Further, the auxiliary spring 7 may be formed of a leaf spring, and is secured to the main mass through the intermediary of a spring support member 9.
