Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a long life battery by arranging a connector made of lead- antimony base alloy containing at least one element selected from selenium and sulfur between a plate group and a terminal post made of lead-antimony base alloy or a terminal in a lead-acid battery. CONSTITUTION:A lead-acid battery 1 is formed with a plate group 2 comprising positive plate using lead-calcium base alloy grid and negative plates using lead- calcium base alloy grid. A connector 4 made of lead-antimony base alloy containing, for example, 50ppm or more, at least one element selected from selenium and sulfur is arranged between the plate group 2 and a terminal post 3 made of lead-antimony base alloy. An electrolyte 5 is usual fluid one. Thereby, the cycle life is remarkably improved compared with usual lead-acid battery and no crack is generated in the connecting part.
