Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the efficient operation of a cooling tower, by a method wherein a fan is stopped and a temperature water control valve is opened to introduce water into a short-circuit pipeline when a water temperature in a lower water tank has become lower than a predetermined temperature while the temperature water control valve is closed when the water temperature has become higher than a given temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A short-circuit pipeline 15, returning cooling water directly into the drop water tank 9 of a lower water tank 5, is formed in a circulating pipeline 10 and a temperature water control valve 17 is attached. A temperature sensor is arranged in the lower water tank 5 and the thermostat 14 of a fan 2 is connected to the temperature sensor 13 to stop the fan 2 when a water temperature in the lower water tank 5 has become lower than aWgive water temperature. The temperature water control valve 17 is also connected to the temperature sensor 13. When the water temperature in the lower water tank 5 is reduced in spite of the stopping of the rotation of the fan 2, the temperature water control valve 17 is opened to send the cooling water directly into the drop water tank 9 from the short-circuit pipeline 15. When the temperature of the cooling water in the lower water tank 5 has become higher than a given temperature, the temperature water control valve 17 is closed and water from an external facility 12 is sprayed through a spray valve 3.
