However, in such target boxes, the pressure of the target substance is set to several atmospheres in order to increase the yield of radioisotopes. Therefore, the metal target oil used in the window where the beam enters must be thick to withstand this pressure and to prevent damage due to the heat generated in the foil by beam irradiation. Increasing the energy decreases the energy of the incident beam, which has the disadvantage of decreasing the yield of radioisotopes. Therefore, in the past, a thin target foil of about 5 to 40 μm was used, and a mesh, porous, or honeycomb-shaped foil holder was used to prevent thermal and mechanical damage. However, because the area that obstructs the incident beam increases, the amount of beam that can initiate a nuclear reaction decreases, reducing the yield of produced isotopes. In general, target oil tends to be damaged at locations that coincide with the peak point of beam intensity.

The present invention has been developed with this in mind, and uses a burnout prevention plate with a shielding part at the peak point of the beam intensity as the target oil, which minimizes the rate of decrease in beam energy and amount and increases the durability of the foil. The performance has also been improved several times.
