Abstract

PURPOSE: To cast a cast slab having large cross section and high quality with little lot under high productivity by cooling the cast slab drawn downward together with a dummy bar head by a water cooled mold and plural mist nozzles and executing rolling-reduction by plural supporting frames.
CONSTITUTION: Molten steel is cast in the copper-made water cooled mold 4 and the formed cast slab is drawn downward together with the dummy bar head 7. Then, the molten steel is cast from a ladle 1 through a ladle nozzle 2 and a float nozzle 3, and also by supplying flux 11 on the molten surface, reoxidation of the molten steel is prevented. And, the molten steel is heated by an arc heating means 9 to promote the float-up of impurity and prevent its mixing. Further, the cast slab is rapidly cooled by plural water mist nozzle 8 arranged below the mold 4 and the mold 4, to prevent segregation. And, the plural supporting frames 5 arranged below the mold 4 are shifted by a hydraulic cylinder 10 at right angle direction to the cast slab drawing direction and the rolling-reduction is executed to the cast slab, to prevent the internal defect or cast slab caused by solidified shrinkage.
