Abstract

PURPOSE:To form patterns easily without generating projecting sections or the like by having a magnet act on a fluid coating film containing powdery magnetic material and making orientation of the like of the magnetic material dispersing uniformly. CONSTITUTION:Liquid coating material containing powdery magnetic materials such as, for instance, nickel, iron and the like to form a liquid coating film A is applied to a subject to be coated, being coated with coating materials to form base coating, intercoating and colored coating film B as occasion demands. When magnetic force is acted with a magnet on said powdery magnetic material in a state that said coating film A contains a solvent and the powdery magnetic materials is fluid, the magnetic material moves in accordance with its magnetic line of force to make the orientation of magnetic material on the magnetic force acted section of the liquid coating film A different from other sections. Further, by penetrating the coating film A with the tone of the colored coating film B or the like, patterns are generated and can be seen through.

Conventionally, methods for creating patterns such as letters, marks, and designs on painted objects include attaching colored adhesive tape to the surface of the painted object, or covering the surface with cardboard cut out in the desired pattern and then applying it over the surface. Many things are done, such as applying paint. However, in all of these methods, a pattern is formed on the surface of the painted object, which creates a level difference between the patterned part and the surface of the painted object, which is unfavorable in terms of appearance and requires a lot of effort to apply the adhesive tape. It takes time, and in addition, air bubbles are likely to get mixed in during application, and dust may adhere to the adhesive. In order to eliminate these defects, a clear top coat is sometimes applied, but this is not sufficient as the process is complicated and the protrusions remain.

Therefore, the present inventors conducted research in order to eliminate the above-mentioned defects, and as a result, they achieved the objective and completed the present invention.

The feature of the present invention is that by applying a magnetic force to the paint film (A), which has fluidity, to the desired size and shape of the pattern, it is uniformly dispersed throughout the paint film (A). Among the powdered magnetic materials, the orientation of only the part of the magnetic material that is affected by the magnetic force is different from that of the other parts, creating a pattern. Furthermore, the coating film (A) subjected to magnetic force
It was possible to see through the surface of the coated object in the lower layer or the color tone of the coating film (B), and it was possible to create various designs in terms of color. In addition, all the patterns formed by the method of the present invention can appear inside the coating film and do not protrude from the coating surface at all, so all of the conventional defects described above have been eliminated.

次に、本発明の方法についてさらに具体的に説明する。Next, the method of the present invention will be explained in more detail.

Example 1 A plastic plate (ABS resin, thickness 31I11) is coated with black two-component urethane paint to a film thickness of 15 to 25 pL, and while it is uncured, powdered magnetic material (stainless steel, particle size 10 to 25 pL) is applied to the coated surface. A two-component acrylic urethane paint containing 5 parts by weight of 100 parts by weight of resin (100 parts by weight of resin) was applied so that the film thickness (solid content) was 15 to 25 fish. A permanent magnet molded into a predetermined pattern (letters) was fixed to the back side of the plastic plate while the coating film had a viscosity of 1 to 2 voids/20°C. Then, the orientation of the magnetic material in the liquid coating film in the part to which the permanent magnet was fixed was different from that in other parts, and a clear pattern appeared.
