Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a material, which has favorable appearance, touch and stain resistance and is excellent in durability and suitable for panel material by a method wherein a ligneous composite material, which is produced by imbedding a large number of wooden chips in synthetic resin and the resultant surface of which is ground, is empolyed as surface material. CONSTITUTION:After the reduction of the water content of wooden chips 1 under green state by drying under heat, the wooden chips 1 are immersed in unsaturated polyester resin or the like and impregnated with the resin and cured. On the other hand, the predetermined amount of the wooden chips subjected to said dimensionally stabilizing treatment is charged in liquid hardening resin such as unsaturated polyester resin or the like or a hardening resin mixture consisting of said liquid hardening resin and filler such as calcium carbonate blended and dispersed with each other and agitated. The surface of a board 4 is treated with primer such as epoxy resin or the like under the state that a frame is provided in the periphery of the board 4 in order to enhance the adhesion. Under the condition as just described above, the mixture of the resin and the wooden chips is cast over the surface of the board 4 and leveled so as to cure the resin at normal temperatures or under heat. After that, the surface of the resultant board is ground with a sanding device in order to obtain a composite material 3 bonded to a board.

The small piece of wood 1 may also be subjected to dimensional stabilization treatment if necessary. Dimensional stabilization treatments include acetylation treatment in which small pieces of wood are treated with acetic anhydride, methods of impregnating them with polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol, methods of heating small pieces of wood, methods of treating small pieces of wood with smoking, liquid phenolic resin, and epoxy. There are methods of impregnating and solidifying resins such as resins, urethane resins, and acrylic resins. Further, it is also possible to mix several percent of an organic halogen preservative into polyethylene glycol or various liquid resins to perform antiseptic treatment simultaneously with the dimensional stabilization treatment.

First, the small piece of wood 1 is subjected to a dimension stabilization treatment. If the small piece of wood 1 is not yet dried, it is heated and dried to reduce the moisture content, and then
It is immersed in a resin liquid such as polyethylene glycol or unsaturated polyester resin to impregnate the small piece of wood 1 with the resin and harden it. In addition, if the small piece of wood is dry, store it in a pressure-resistant container such as an autoclave, reduce the pressure inside, inject the resin liquid, impregnate the small piece of wood, and then pressurize it to penetrate inside and harden. . Of course, it is also possible to dissolve a coloring agent in the resin liquid and carry out the coloring treatment at the same time.

Then, a frame is provided around the substrate 4, and the surface of the substrate 4 is treated with a brimer such as polyurethane resin or epoxy resin to improve adhesion, and then a mixture of resin and small pieces of wood is applied to the surface of the substrate 4. After pouring the resin into a glass and smoothing the surface, the resin is cured at room temperature or under heating. As a result, the small piece of wood 1, the synthetic resin 2, and the substrate 4 are joined and integrated.
