Abstract

PURPOSE: To reproduce image of two colors on the same paper surface as they are and to shorten the copying time of a color image by providing a paper feeding device which feeds two sheets of copying paper between two transfer devices and an electrostatic latent image carrier opposing 1st and 2nd areas.

CONSTITUTION: An original S which has a red image Ar and a black image Bb is mounted on the original platen glass of a copying machine and the original surface is irradiated with light from the exposure lamp 12 of an optical system. Light projected on the black image Bb is absorbed and not reflected, and light projected on the red image Ar and background part is reflected completely. This reflected light is passed through lenses 16a and 16b and uniform electrostatic charging is performed by an electrostatic charging means; and a 1st latent image having shade parts corresponding to the images Ar and Bb is formed in an area I on the photosensitive drum 1, and only a red component is passed through a red transmission filter F₁ mounted on the lens 16b to form a 2nd latent image as a red part in an area II. They are developed by red and black developing devices 20a and 20b respectively. Further, sheets of paper is fed by paper feed cassettes 60a and 60b to take a color copy at the same time by single-time operation.
