Abstract

PURPOSE: To lighten the burden imposed by voltage and current on main switching elements and to improve efficiency, by mutually reversing the ON-OFF period of auxiliary and main switching elements and by synchronizing them.
CONSTITUTION: An input power source 11 is connected to a series circuit of the primary winding 13 of a transformer 12 and a main FET 14, while the secondary winding 15 of the transformer 12 is connected to output terminals 20 and 21 through a rectification circuit composed of diodes 16 and 17 and a smoothing circuit composed of an inductor 18 and a capacitor 19. These output terminals 20 and 21 are connected to the gate of the main FET 14 through an insulating photocoupler 23, a shunt regulator 24 and a detection amplification circuit 25. A series circuit of a diode 26 and a capacitor 27 is connected between the drain and the source of the main FET 4. A drain of an auxiliary FET 29 is connected to an auxiliary winding 28 of the transformer 12. Time constant circuits 31 and 32 are inserted so as not to overlap the leading and trailing edges in switching ON and OFF of the main and auxiliary FET's 14 and 29.
