Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve availability of an optical disk by setting the next memory control information area in an idle area of a data area and at the same time storing the information on the memory control information area in a succession information memory area when a memory control information area is filled.
CONSTITUTION: A central processing unit 11 of a host device 1 sets an index current pointer PCI showing the heat sector of an idle area of an idle area of a data area ADT, and an index work buffer WBI into a work memory 13 for an access to an optical disk.
