Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 represents H or 1W4C alkyl; Y represents N+(R2)3.X- (R2 represents 1W4C alkyl; X represents halogen atom), (substituted)pyridinium halide or (substituted)quinolinium halide].
EXAMPLE: 7,12-Bis(2-pyridinioethyl)-3,8,13,17-tetramethyl-2,18-bis(2-methoxycarbo nylethyl)-21H,23H-porphine dibromide.
USE: A diagnosticum or remedy for cancer, which has both optical sensitization action and affinity for cancer cells.
PREPARATION: A porphyrin derivative expressed by formula II [example; methyl 7,12-bis(2-bromoethyl)-3,8,13,17-tetramethyl-21H,23H-porphi-ne-2,18-dipropionate, etc.] is reacted with the corresponding tertiary amine (example; pyridine, etc.).
