Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily and safely respond to load changes by forming all or part of buffle plates contained in a shell with a pair of separatable plates, and drilling multiple flow holes in said pair of plates which are closed when the plates are in tight contact with each other.
CONSTITUTION: When a threaded rod is rotated by a control handle 20, a movable plate 22b moves upward to be separated from a stationary plate 22a. Under a condition where the stationary plate 22a and the movable plate 22b are mated, flow holes drilled in said plates are closed, causing a buffle 22 to act same as a buffle 21. However, as part of the heating fluid passes through said flow holes when the stationary plate 22a and the movable plate 22b are separated, the buffle effect is reduced to cause the chance of contact between the heating fluid and a heat conducting pipe 7 to be reduced, which results in a reduction of the exchange calorie conducted to the heated fluid. As a result, an operation under low load conditions can be responded to readily and safely.
