Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled plastics having excellent transparency and moldability and thermoplastic and heat-resistant properties by forming said plastics with a thermoplastic copolymer of a specific monomer of a crosslinking agent and an ethylenic unsatd. monomer.
CONSTITUTION: The plastics contains 99.9W98wt% methyl methacrylate and 0.1W2.0wt% the crosslinking agent having ≥2 polymeric functional groups to maintain the excellent transparency and mechanical strength of an acrylic type plastics, thereby obtaining the plastics having high heat-resistant temperature and thermoplasticity. In case that the crosslinking agent is >2.0% in the plastics, the obtd. plastics is insoluble to all solvents, and does not have thermoplasticity. While, in case that the crosslinking agent is ≤0.1wt%, the substantial heat-resistant temperature of the plastics does not increase.
