Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the reduction of a time required for recording operation by recording a digital data including address information and recording the data in an alternative sector if the recovered and extracted address is not coincident with the recorded address. CONSTITUTION:A recording command is given to a host 6 or a CPU 5 to store a digital data into a memory 4 via an interface 7, the CPU 5 adds an address to the memory 4 and a signal added by an error code and a correction code at a circuit 3 is modulated/demodulated by a modulator-demodulator 2 and the result is recorded in a data area of a corresponding address sector of an optical disk 1. The reproduced signal is demodulated by the circuit 2 succeedingly and the error of the data stored in the memory 4 is corrected by the circuit 3. The CPU 5 reads the address from a digital data, compares it with the recorded address, and when they are coincident, the recording is finished, and if dissident, the digital data including the address is recorded in the alternative sector.

When recording information on a digital optical disc, a track is generally divided into a plurality of sectors, and an address is assigned to each sector. Therefore, each sector consists of an address area and a data area. By the way, although recorded information can be immediately reproduced from an optical disc, once recorded information cannot be updated. If the address cannot be read from the address area, searching becomes impossible, so it has been proposed, for example, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 60-258762, to record address information in the data area as well. In this device, a bad sector mark area is provided between the address area and the data area.
When a defect occurs in data information, a defective sector mark is recorded there, and the data information is recorded in a replacement sector.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention provides a memory for storing digital data information to be recorded, an error detection and correction circuit to which an error detection code and an error correction code are added to detect and correct errors; In an optical disk device equipped with a generation circuit that generates address information and a modulation/demodulation circuit that modulates recorded information, records it on an optical disk, and demodulates reproduced information, when a command is given to record digital data information, the generation circuit inputs data into the memory. Address information is added to the stored digital data information, the error detection and correction circuit adds an error detection code and an error correction code to the digital data information to which the address information has been added, and the modulation and demodulation circuit is processed by the error detection and correction circuit. The recorded digital data information is recorded in the sector corresponding to the address of the optical disk, and after the recording is completed, the recorded information is reproduced from the sector, the address information is read from the reproduced digital data information, and the read address information and the recorded address information are combined. If the two address information do not match, the data information including the address information processed by the error detection and correction circuit is alternately recorded in the sectors.

As described above, the present invention provides a memory that stores digital data information to be recorded, an error detection and correction circuit that detects and corrects errors by adding an error detection code and an error correction code, and a generation circuit that generates address information. In an optical disk device equipped with a modulation/demodulation circuit that modulates recorded information, records it on an optical disk, and demodulates reproduced information, when a command is given to record digital data information, the generation circuit modulates the digital data information stored in the memory. Address information is added, the error detection and correction circuit adds an error detection code and an error correction code to the digital data information to which the address information has been added, and the modulation/demodulation circuit transfers the digital data information processed by the error detection and correction circuit to the optical disc. The recorded information is recorded in the sector corresponding to the address, and after recording is completed, the recorded information is reproduced from the sector, the address information is read from the reproduced digital data information, the read address information and the recorded address information are compared, and both address information If they do not match, the data information including the address information processed by the error detection and correction circuit is recorded in alternate sectors, so that the process of simply recording in the alternate sector is the same as when recording in a normal sector. This reduces the time required for recording operations.
