Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately mount a device on a printer head or the like through a coating relief by a method wherein an external film is not formed at belt-like parts over a prescribed length from the upper and lower edges and all the edges of internal electrode conductors are coated with the external film. CONSTITUTION:A electrostrictive-effect device 100 is composed of the following: laminated sinters A where piezoelectric ceramic materials a1-an and internal electrode conductors b1-bn-1 are laminated alternately; glass insulating layers I1-In which are laid every other layer with reference to the internal electrode conductors b1-bn-1 at a pair of sides facing the laminated sinters A; a pair of external electrodes 1, 2 which are formed in such a way that edge parts at the internal electrode conductors b1-bn-1 exposed to said sides are connected alternately so as to form a tooth-shaped internal electrode; an external film C1 which is formed in such a way that the edge parts of the internal electrode conductor layers b1-bn-1 exposed to the sides of the laminated sinters A, including the glass insulating layers, are coated completely. Belt-like coating relief D1, which are not coated with the external film C1, are formed at a prescribed distance from the upper and lower edges.
