Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a pure Ti sheet hardly producing surface defects during forming by subjecting pure Ti stock to repeated cold rolling and annealing, specified continuous annealing as final annealing and pickling so as to provide controlled surface luster.
CONSTITUTION: When a pure Ti sheet is manufactured by repeated cold rolling and annealing, continuous annealing at 600W800°C in the air for 2W6min is carried out as final annealing to provide controlled surface luster as well as to regulate the average grain size of the product to 3W60μm, preferably ≤about 30μm. The sheet is then pickled to decolor the surface tarnished by oxidation during the annealing. Thus, a pure Ti sheet hardly producing surface defects such as popping during forming is obtd.
