Abstract

PURPOSE: To recognize plural bodies which are present closely with high accuracy by providing a normal and a slanting picked-up image obtained with a vertical projection light beam and a couple of slanting projection light beams at symmetrical position as required.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 10 controls the vertical projection of a no-shadow light source 2 and the slanting light projection of projection light sources 3 and 4 at the symmetrical positions, and a camera 1 picks up projection images at respective light projection times. Then, an image processing means 11 performs difference arithmetic between the normal picked-up images and slanting picked-up images of components 51 and 52 and the sum of difference results is calculated as a recognition result. Consequently, there is no adjacent part included in an inspection range without adjusting the inspection range, so plural bodies which are present nearby each other are recognized based on a high-S/N image with high accuracy.
