Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance not only heat efficiency but also a printing speed, by providing a heater so that said heater is at least partially extended to the space in an ink flow passage. CONSTITUTION:The heating part 16a of a heater element 16 is arranged in an ink chamber 13 so as to be extended to the space in said ink chamber 13. The ink chamber 3 having an almost rectangular shape is provided in one surface of a substrate 11 in a recessed state and the heating part 16a of the heater element 16 is provided in a bridged state so as to traverse the recessed part 13. The heating part 16a and lead part 16b are formed of the same substance and, for example, the width of the heating part 16a is set so as to be narrower than the lead part 16b and, therefore, the electric resistance of the heating part 16a is set so as to be made larger than that of the lead part 16a. When a current is supplied to the heater element 16, heat is generated in the heating part 16a and the diffused heat from the heating part 16a is entirely absorbed by the circumferential ink 15. The resistance of a fluid to an ink supply passage 14 becomes high and the ink 15 excluded by air bubbles generated around the heating part 16a flows through the ink chamber 13 to effectively move toward a nozzle orifice 12a.
