Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously produce an ultrathin sheet in the same manner as in ordinary rolling by moving the thin sheet along the top and bottom surfaces of belt-like members and subjecting the same to rolling in the form of plural layers, then stripping the rolled ultrathin sheet from the belt-like member. CONSTITUTION:The thin sheet 1 which is wound to a thin sheet coil 3 is fed via deflector rolls 7 along the top and bottom surfaces of the endless belt-like members 4 driven by rolls 10. The three-layered sheet consisting of the thin sheets 1 on the top and bottom surfaces and the member 4 is passed through rolling rolls 5 to roll the thin sheet 1 to the ultrathin sheet 1' and thereafter the sheet 1' is stripped from the member 4 and is taken up to the thin sheet coil 3'. The production of the ultrathin sheet is thus made continuous in the same manner as for ordinary rolling.
