PURPOSE:To prevent a laser from damaging by slowly starting a current of a transistor circuit for driving a semiconductor laser or switch means for turning ON and OFF an FET circuit and the laser after turning ON a power source to gradually increase the power source voltage, thereby eliminating the unstable operation of the laser. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is connected with an IN terminal, a voltage output to an OUT terminal through a resistor R connected between the base and the collector of Tr and a capacitor C between the base and the ground of a slow starter 11 gradually increases to eventually become constant. Since this voltage is supplied to a semiconductor laser 1, a surge current does not flow. A switch 10 is turned ON and OFF by the output of an image information source 9. Since the power source voltage is directly supplied to other circuit components, an unstable operation period is extremely short. Accordingly, the unstable operation of the laser 1 is eliminated to prevent the laser 1 from damaging.
