Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the grasp and confirmation of the content of a sentence by providing a voice mail box, a character converter and a character display device. CONSTITUTION:The character converter 13 has a voice confirming section 131 and a code conversion section 132 to output a character data to a character display device of a recipient 14. When a message reception section 121 receives an incoming notice from a telephone set of a sender 11, 'connection to voice mail box' and 'reception of message' are informed via a main switch and the message in voice received from the sender 11 is connected to a message storage section 122. The code conversion section 132 converts a character code being an output of the voice confirming section 131 so as to display in character it on a character display device of the recipient 14 and outputs it as a character data. Thus, the grasp and confirmation of the content of the sentence are attained sufficiently and missing of the message is eliminated.

In addition, even if it is possible to avoid waste of time by recording on the recipient's side from the voice mailbox and fast forwarding, a recording facility is required. A voice mailbox which receives and records and stores voice messages from the caller's telephone for each registered subscriber, and from which the receiver of the message acts as a retriever and retrieves the stored voice messages, and the voice mailbox. a character conversion device that inputs a voice message extracted from the computer, performs voice recognition, converts it into character codes, and outputs a message in the form of character data; and a receiving subscriber terminal that receives the output of the character conversion device and displays it in characters. It is equipped with a character display.

Next, the operation when the AM 14 takes out a message will be explained with reference to FIG. 2(a). When the receiving tone 14 dials the message calling code from the telephone 141, the connection control device 16 extracts the subscriber tone number of the receiver 111 from the accommodation position of the 1-switch 15 and notifies it to the voice mailbox 12. Connect the output line to the main switch 15
is connected to the input line of the recipient 14 via. When the voice mailbox 12 cannot be activated from the connection control device 16, it sends messages 1, 2, . . . from the message area of the received subscriber number. . . . are extracted one after another and sent out. The recipient 14 dials the message calling code and then operates the switching device 143 to switch the line connection from the 1 switch 15 from the telephone 141 to the character conversion device 13. When the character conversion device 13 receives a voice message from the voice mailbox 12, the character conversion device 13 converts the -1(')- voice into characters, outputs the result, and causes the character display device 142 to display the text.

In addition, in FIG. 2(b), the connection control device 10 that receives the subscriber name number of the recipient 14 transmits the output of the character conversion device 13 to the recipient 14 via the switch 15 instead of the output of the voice mailbox 12. Controls connection to the same data input line. The operation of the voice mailbox 12 is the same as in the case shown in FIG.
The character display device 142 of No. 4 sequentially displays character data transferred via the switch 15.

[Efficacy of the Invention] As explained above, the voice mail system of the present invention retrieves a message stored in voice via a voice conversion device and displays a plurality of characters on a character display device owned by the recipient of the message. Therefore, there is no need to read each character displayed on the character display device, and since there are characters remaining before each character that correspond to the display capacity of the character display device, it is easy to understand and confirm the content of the text. This has the effect of improving the service by eliminating the possibility of missing a message.
