Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the rise-up characteristic of torque suitable for each gear ratio, by providing such an arrangement that the rate of rise-up when detecting an abrupt acceleration, is successively increased as the gear stage is shifted up.
CONSTITUTION: The condition of acceleration in accordance with the opening degree of a throttle valve is detected by an accelerating condition detecting means 3. The number of a present gear stage of a speed change gear 4 is detected by a gear stage number detecting means 5. The rate of rise-up of supercharge pressure when detecting an abrupt acceleration is set to be along the characteristic (a) at the time of starting of the vehicle at a first gear stage. The higher the gear ratio, the steeper the rise-up becomes successively, as shown by (b) through (e). A supercharge pressure control means 7 controls a supercharger 2 to that the supercharge pressure set by a supercharger pressure setting means 6 may be obtained.
