Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a required folding beam easily by impressing a prescribed electric voltage on many piezo-electric elements disposed in the direction of a working beam and adjusting a gap between a frame and a metal die automatically.
CONSTITUTION: When some prescribed pieces of information such as material, plate thickness, and folding width are inputted into a main control unit 27 by an input unit 29 and the unit 27 reads data in a memory 31 and gives an electric voltage controller 35 prescribed command signals. The controller 35 gives every ceramic actuator 19 a prescribed voltage based on the command signals. At that time, the controller 35 gives only a necessary actuator 19 the prescribed voltage through a switching unit 37. In that way, all ceramic actuators 19 are given prescribed voltages respectively to form a required metal die working beam as shown by am alternate long and two short dashes line.
