Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat transmission pipe having excellent resistance to hydrogen permeation for a steam generator of a fast breeder by using a specifically composed heat resisting steel consisting of Cr, Mo and Fe and subjecting the surface thereof to a coating treatment consisting essentially of Al or Cr.
CONSTITUTION: The heat resisting steel contg. 2W3% Cr and 0.5W2.0% Mo and the balance Fe is used and the coating layer which consists essentially of Al and/or Cr and is added with Si, etc. according to need is formed on the surface thereof. The above-mentioned coating treatment is preferably subjected to either of the inside or outside surface to be exposed to water except the groove of the tube consisting of the above-mentioned heat resisting steel and welding the same or is preferably subjected to the inside or outside surface of the pipe after the above-mentioned tube is welded. The resistance of the heat transmission pipe to hydrogen permeation is thereby improved and the reduction of the scale of a purification installation is made possible.
