Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the speed of response of each shutter, and to improve a transmissivity, by image-forming a left side video through a first deflecting means, and a right side video through a second deflecting means having a deflecting characteristics dif ferent from that of the first means.
CONSTITUTION: The right side and the left side videos having the binocular parallax of an object 30, are sent to polarizing filters 24 and 25, through optical paths l1 and l2, respectively. The polarizing characteristics of the polarizing filters 24 and 25 are set at relation that they are intersected orthogonally, and light beams passing through the polarizing filters 24 and 25 are synthesized at a half-mirror 27, and are image-formed on an image pickup plane 32a through a polarizing filter 28, and a lens 29. The polarizing filter 28 is mounted so that it can be angular displaced freely in a peripheral direction, and is supported by almost a cylindrical supporting roller. And it is rotated by every 90° at every field by a pulse motor 33, and a driving gear 32, and thereby, the right side video, and the left side video are image-formed on the image pickup plane 32a in a field sequence.
