Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a printing without injuring the printed surface of a recording paper, by frictionally rotating a paper feed roller on the non-printing side of the recording paper in a cassette for feeding the recording paper into a printing device assembly. CONSTITUTION:The front edge of a lowermost recording paper 2 is held in abutment against a pawl member 15a by the frictional contact of a paper feed roller 16 and projectingly curved downwardly as shown by a broken line, then it is separated from other recording papers 2 and released from the pawl member 15a. Since the paper feed roller 16 continues its rotational drive, the lowermost recording paper 2 is fed toward the direction shown by the broken line to be supplied into the printing unit of a printing device assembly. When the paper feed roller 16 makes a frictional contact with the non-printing surface 2B of the recording paper 2, a flaw made by a slip of the the paper feed roller 16 is applied to the non-printing surface 2B of the recording paper 2.

・ (Prior art) When automatically feeding recording paper to a thermal transfer printing device, normally a plurality of recording papers are stored in a cassette, and a paper feed roller is rotated by friction against the recording paper. Then, the recording paper is fed into the main body of the printing apparatus. That is, as shown in FIG. 4(A), a plurality of recording papers 2 are stored in the cassette 1,
Top recording paper 2. In such a paper feeding mechanism, when the paper feeding roller 3 is rotated, the leading edge of the uppermost recording paper 2 first contacts the claw member 1a of the cassette 1, and the paper feeding roller 3 is brought into contact with the claw member 1a of the cassette 1. The recording paper is bent and separated from the other (lower) recording paper as shown in .

When the paper feed roller 3 rotates further, the recording paper 2 is moved by the claw member 1a.
The paper is removed, and only one sheet is fed into the main body of the printing apparatus.

By the way, from the time when the leading edge of the recording paper 2 comes into contact with the claw member 1a until it comes off from the claw member 1a, a force is applied to the recording paper 2 by the claw member 1a in the opposite direction to the paper feeding direction, so that the paper feed roller The circumferential speed of No. 3 and the feeding speed of recording paper No. 2 no longer match #l! First, the paper feed roller 3 slips on the recording paper 2-hi. When the paper feed roller 3 slips in this way, a scratch 2a is often created on the recording paper 2 at the slip position of the roller 3, as shown in FIG. 4(B).

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) Conventionally, when the paper feed roller 3 is housed in the cassette 1, the printing portion 2A of the recording paper 2 is housed so as to face the paper feed roller. For this reason, the scratches 2a caused by the slipping of the paper feed row 3 described in 1-1 end up being applied to the printing surface 2A of the recording paper 2, as shown in FIG. 4(B). Therefore, for example, if the transfer paper is heated with a thermal head and the ink is used to print characters, figures, etc. on the printing surface of the recording paper 2, the print density may become very dark or print defects may occur at the scratch 2a position. It will happen.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and the paper feed roller is frictionally rotated on the non-printing side of the recording paper to feed the recording paper into the main body of the printing apparatus. The purpose of this paper is to provide a paper feeding method for feeding paper into the interior of the paper.

1 and 2 show a cassette 10 used in the paper feeding method of the present invention. This set 1O has a frame-shaped main body 11 that is loaded into a thermal transfer printing device (not shown), and a plurality of recording sheets 2 are housed in the main body 11. A portion of the recording paper 2 is supported by a support plate 12, and the support plate 12 is attached to the main body 11 so that it can be opened and closed. Main body 1
A suppression plate 13 is disposed on both sides of the main body 11, and this suppression plate 13 is swingably supported by the main body 11 using a shaft portion 13a at one end thereof as a fulcrum. In addition, the other end of the suppression plate 13 and the main body 1
A coil spring 14 is disposed between the top wall 11A and the top wall 11A. - A plate member 15 extending downward is fixed to the ceiling wall 11A at the other end of the pressing plate 13, and claw members 15a, 15a are integrally provided on both sides of the lower end of the plate member 15, respectively.

Next, the printing device is operated and the paper feed roller 16 is rotated in the direction of the arrow as shown in FIG. 3(A). Therefore, the lowermost recording paper 2 is bent so as to protrude downward as shown by the broken line when its leading end contacts the claw members 15a, 15a due to the frictional contact of the paper feed roller 16, and then the other recording paper 2
It is separated from the claw members 15a, 15a. Since the paper feed roller 16 continues to be rotated, the lowest recording paper 2 is fed in the direction of the broken line arrow shown in FIG. Predetermined printing is performed.

In this way, the paper feed roller 16 is placed on the non-printing surface 2B of the recording paper 2.
When the recording paper 2 is brought into frictional contact with the recording paper 2, the scratch 2a caused by the slip of the paper feed roller 16 described above will be created on the non-printing surface 2B of the recording paper 2, as shown in FIG. 3(B). Therefore,
Printing can be performed on the printing surface 2A of the recording paper 2 at a desired density, and printing defects will not occur.

In the embodiment L, a case has been described in which the paper feed roller 16 is located below the cassette lO, but when the paper feed roller is located in the -E direction with respect to the cassette, the recording paper is not placed in the cassette. The recording paper may be fed by storing the recording paper with the non-printing surface facing upward, and similarly bringing the paper feed roller into frictional contact with the non-printing surface.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the present invention, the paper feeding roller is frictionally rotated on the non-printing side of the recording paper in the cassette to feed the recording paper into the main body of the printing apparatus. The mark 1ii11 can be applied without damaging the printed surface. Therefore, it is possible to print on recording paper at a desired density without causing printing defects such as uneven printing.
