Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform cleaning without giving a hindrance to the driving mechanism of an objective lens by making cleaning of the objective lens while making the objective lens move similarly with the time of writing and reading of data using a focus actuator and a track actuator. CONSTITUTION:A control section 7 that gives driving command to attach fiber 2 for cleaning on the face facing the objective lens 3 of an optical disk 1 and gives command to a focus actuator 5 to bring the objective lens 3 into contact with the fiber for cleaning and at the same time gives driving command to a track actuator 6 to move the objective lens 3 in the direction of the track is provided. When attaching the fiber for cleaning 2 to the optical disk 1, the fiber for cleaning 2 is made to come into contact with the objective lens 3 placed at the focal position. It is desirable to make the fiber 2 using sufficiently minute hair to avoid damage of the objective lens 3.

[Prior Art] Recording and reproduction of information onto and from an optical disk as a recording medium is performed using a semiconductor laser, and the laser beam is narrowed down to one spot or less by an objective lens and focused onto the optical disk, and then recorded. and playback. For this reason, if dust, etc. due to static electricity or dust being stirred up due to disk rotation, etc., adheres to the objective lens, the light intensity of the laser beam for recording and playback will decrease, and the output and reading output will decrease. Because of this, it is necessary to periodically clean the objective lens.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The above-mentioned type of optical disk device does not have a sufficient objective lens cleaner, and dirt and the like are removed by applying cleaning liquid with a wire rod or the like. According to this method, since the objective lens is cleaned in a stopped state, an unexpected force acts on the objective lens during writing/reading operations, and during cleaning, force is exerted on the leaf springs etc. that support the objective lens. The drawback is that the force applied causes deformation, and the mechanism that drives the objective lens no longer operates properly.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention includes a focus actuator that moves an objective lens in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of an optical disc, a track actuator that moves the objective lens in the track direction of the optical disc, and a focus actuator that moves the objective lens in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the optical disc. An optical disk attached with a cleaning fiber is brought into contact with the objective lens moved to a position, and when cleaning the objective lens, a drive command is issued to the focus actuator to bring the objective lens into contact with the cleaning fiber. The optical disk device is characterized in that it has a control section that issues a drive command to move an objective lens that is in contact with cleaning fibers in a track direction.

As shown in FIG. 1, an optical disc device generally includes a focus actuator 5 that moves an objective lens 3 up and down to a focal position that forms a laser beam spot on an optical disc 1, and an objective lens 3 that is located at the focal position. a track actuator 6 for moving the optical disc 1 in the 1-to-rack direction;
It is equipped with In the present invention, the objective lens 3 is cleaned using the focus actuator 5 and the track actuator 6 described above. In other words, the present invention attaches the cleaning fiber 2 to the surface of the optical disc 1 facing the objective lens 3, and roughly issues a drive command to the focus actuator 5 to bring the objective lens 3 into contact with 1 ft2 of the cleaning fiber. ,
The control unit 7 issues a drive command to the track actuator 6 to move the objective lens 3 in the direction of 1 to 3. When attaching the cleaning fiber 2 to the optical disk 1, the cleaning fiber 2 is attached so as to come into contact with the objective lens 3 centered at the focal position. Further, it is desirable that the fibers 2 are made of cilia that are sufficiently small so as not to damage the objective lens 3.

In the embodiment, in order to clean the objective lens 3, the optical disk 1 with cleaning fibers 2 attached thereto is mounted on the shaft 8, and the cleaning fibers 2 of the optical disk 1 are brought to face the objective lens 3. Then, as shown in FIG. 2, the objective lens 3 is moved to the focal position by the focus actuator 5, and the cleaning fiber 2 is brought into contact with the objective lens 3.

At this time, the temporary spring 4 and the like supporting the objective lens 3 are brought into contact with each other to the extent that they are not deformed. Next, as shown in FIG. 3, the objective lens 3 is reciprocated in the track direction by the track actuator 6 to remove dirt and foreign matter adhering to the objective lens 3. It is also more effective to impregnate the fibers 2 with a cleaning liquid for lens cleaning.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the present invention uses a focus actuator and a track actuator to move the objective lens in the same manner as when writing and reading data.
Since the objective lens is cleaned, there is no need to apply excessive force to the plate springs etc. that support the objective lens, and the objective lens can be cleaned without interfering with the drive mechanism of the objective lens during cleaning. It is.
