Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect a base material hidden behind a wall surface and to decide whether the base material is a magnetic material or not by measuring variation in the capacitor of a capacitor formed of a face-shaped electrode and variation in the inductance of a coil, and deciding their values.
CONSTITUTION: The whole sensor is constituted on one substrate 33 and face- shaped electrodes 31, 32a, and 32h are printed on the top surface of the substrate 33. The electrodes 32a and 32h are connected electrically, so substantially two face-shaped electrodes are used and the capacitor is formed among the electrodes 31, 32a, and 32h. The capacitor capacity among the electrodes is affected by the dielectric constant of the walll surface and part behind it. Fur ther, a groove 33a is formed in the flank of the substrate 33 by one round and an enamel wire is wound in the groove to form the coil 36. Then variation in the capacitor capacity is measured by a capacity measuring circuit and variation in the inductance of the coil 36 is measured by a circuit which senses variation in the inductance; and those measured values are compared with reference values by comparators respectively and discriminated, and then dis played.
