Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain the display of a cursor of optional form and also to improve the operability of a display device for variable cursor pattern, by using a cursor pattern memory which registers a cursor pattern of optional form and another memory which stores the size of the pattern.
CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor 1 accepts a register instruction for cursor pattern and then stores the horizontal and vertical sizes of a cursor in a memory 21 together with the cursor pattern. Then the processor 1 accepts a cursor display instruction. When an interruption is applied to the processor 1 from a timer 3, the processor 1 reads the contents of the memory 21 to recognize the size of the cursor and secures the exclusive OR conditions between the cursor pattern already registered and the contents of the position data designated within a display data memory 4. The contents of the memory 4 are always sent to a CRT monitor 6 via a display control part 5. Thus the pattern designated by a cursor pattern register instruction is displayed as a cursor.
