Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the simple operation for joining the gels of the 1st dimension and the gel of the 2nd dimension and to improve the reproducibility of migration data by sliding and moving a sliding body upon ending of the electrophoresis for the 1st dimension thereby joining the gel of the 1st dimension near to the end side of the gel of the 2nd dimension.
CONSTITUTION: The sliding body 2 consists of a keep plate 5 and a spacer 8 and is installed slidably and movably upward in tight contact with a stationary plate 1 so as to face said plate. The sliding body 2 is slid and moved by a moving means 4 consisting of a rack 14 and a pinion 15. The surface of the sliding body 2 on the stationary plate 1 side so formed that the gel 6 of the 2nd dimension can be held. A gel support 3 of the 1st dimension having a rectangular aperture 10 for housing the gel of the 1st dimension is attached to the end of the stationary plate 1 in the sliding and moving direction of the sliding body in such a manner that the aperture 10 faces the surface of the sliding body 2 on the side where the gel 6 is held. The sliding body 2 is slid and moved upon ending of the electrophoresis for the 1st dimension to join the gel 9 housed in the aperture 10 near to the side end of the gel 6 held in the sliding body 2.
