Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect both the load and an output device by turning off the transistor of the output device when an overcurrent flows to the load to cut off the supply of power to the load.
CONSTITUTION: The transistor TR of an output device 1 is turned on via a resistance 3 by the output signal given from a CPU. Thus a current flows to the load 4 and the load 4 is actuated. If the load 4 has a short circuit, a current detector 11 detects an overcurrent. A comparator 16 compares the reference signal voltage obtained by giving the voltage division to a reference power supply line 15 by a resistance 13 and a variable resistance 14 with the detecting signal voltage given from a resistance 12. The comparator 16 delivers the signal to a CPU when said detecting signal voltage is higher than the reference signal voltage. Then the CPU calculates the received signal and turns off a TR2 with the signal current corresponding to the output signal and set at zero or a low level. Thus the overcurrent is cut off to the load 4 and therefore the breakage of the TR2 of the device 1 can be avoided.
