Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an anti-fogging material capable of effectively preventing a moisture condensation on a transparent plate over a long period and suitable as goggles, by coating a surface of a substrate with a coating liquid consisting of a reaction product of polyvinyl pyrrolidone and an acidic polymer and drying the coating liquid to form an anti-fogging layer on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: The objective anti-fogging material can be produced by coating a surface of a substrate with a coating liquid consisting of a composition obtained by the reaction of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) with an acidic polymer (ACP) and drying the applied liquid to form an anti-fogging layer. The substrate is preferably a transparent plastic film having an anchor layer on the surface. The ACP is preferably a styrene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer or a styrene/ maleic anhydride copolymer. The thickness of the coating layer is 1W30μm. The weight ratio of ACP/PVP is 0.01W1.
