Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce large noise and vibration at the start of defrosting and consequently provide comfortable defrosting by a method wherein the air flow rate of an outdoor blower is controlled on the basis of a detection signal of the pressure in a refrigerating cycle so as to detect the presence and absence of frosting in order to start defrosting on the basis of said frosting detection signal and a heating overload end detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: When the temperature (t) of an indoor heat exchanger exceeds the set temperature t1 after the start of heating operation, the overload signal is issued to as to be integrated by time with the overload control time integration circuit in a memory 9 and the the same time to put a relay 12, which drives and stops an outdoor blower 7 by means of a driving signal generating means 10, into actuation in order to stop the outdoor blower 7. When the temperature (t) of the indoor heat exchanger goes below the set temperature t2, the overload ending signal is issued to as to stop the integration by time with the overload control time integration circuit and at the same time to put the relay 12 to drive the outdoor blower 7 into actuation in order to drive the outdoor blower 7 and to restore normal heating operation. When the integrated time T of the overload control time integration circuit exceeds the predetermined integrated time T1 or the starting condition for defrosting is established and at the same time the overload ending signal is issued, a relay 13 to drive a four-way changeover valve 2 is put into actuation in order to start defrosting.
