Abstract

PURPOSE:To warm up the titled apparatus within a short time and to reduce power required in heating, by providing a heat generator fixed so as to be slid with the surface of a platen part in the side opposed to a recording head and heating recording paper from the back surface thereof over a period before and after printing to dry recording ink. CONSTITUTION:A heat generator 2 is provided to the surface of a platen 1 in the side opposed to a recording head 5 and recording paper 3 is heated from the back surface thereof over a period before and after printing to dry recording ink. The heat generator 2 is slid with the surface of the platen 1. The heat generator 2 is a heat generating resistor of 200W and uniformly heats the back surface of the recording head in a printing width direction. The surface temp. of the recording paper 3 is detected by atemp. sensor 10 and the power supplied to the heat generator 2 is controlled by a temp. controller 11 to hold the heating temp. of the recording paper to constant arbitrary temp.
