Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a quick and appropriate measurement of a lens shape, by bringing a measuring element in which a flat part is formed at the center and a wide-bottomed slopes designed at a fixed angle are formed on both right and left sides thereof into contact with the outer periphery of a lens to perform a computation each time the lens axis turns at a fixed pulse.
CONSTITUTION: A measuring element 35 has a flat part at the center, wide- bottomed slopes on both the sides thereof and supported with an oscillatory shaft 43. The measuring element 35 is brought into contact with the outer periphery of a lens 10 finishing with a working to measure the circumference, the front rim end and rear rim end of a lens. In other words, when measuring the outer diameter, the circumference of the lens 10 is put on a flat section of the measuring element 35 and the movement of a contact 35 is measured with a rotary encoder rotating the lens shaft to determine (f). For measuring the front rim end and rear rim end of the lens 10, the lens 10 is moved to the left or the right to contact the slopes of the measuring element 35 to measure (l) and measure (r). The lens shape is calculated by an arithmetric processing of the data.
