Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide excellent corrosion resistance and to facilitate surface hardening by nitriding, by incorporating specific amounts of V, Ta, Zr, and Hf to Ni metal.
CONSTITUTION: One or more kinds among 0.2W20% V, 0.2W20% Ta, 0.1W5.0% Zr, and 0.1W5.0% Hf are incorporated to Ni metal, where, when only one kind is incorporated, the lower limits of V, Ta, Zr, and Hf are regulated to 0.5%, 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.2%, respectively. Moreover, as the Ni metal, a material consisting of, by weight, ≤20% Fe, ≤5% Si, ≤20% Mn, ≤10% Mo, ≤20% Cu, ≤30% Co, and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities may be employed. If necessary, one or more kinds among 0.1W15% Ti, 0.2W20% Nb, 0.5W12% Cr, and 0.3W15% Al are further incorporated to the above composition. An Ni-metal material with this composition has a property easy to undergo nitriding and is excellent in workability, etc.
