Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of a tracking power supply circuit by providing an output voltage limiting transistor and giving an intermediate potential between the positive and negative output voltages to the base of the transistor to avoid the unstable working, the breakdown, etc. of the power supply circuit and to secure the protection of said circuit.
CONSTITUTION: An output voltage limiting transistor (TR) 17 is added between an output terminal and the common side of an error amplifier 7 within a feedback type voltage stabilizing circuit set at the positive side. At the same time, the base terminal of the TR 17 is connected to the intermediate connection point between the voltage dividing resistances 15 and 16 inserted between the positive and negative side output terminals 3 and 4. Then the intermediate potential E0 between the positive and negative output voltages is applied to the base terminal. The potential E0 is shifted toward the positive potential when the output voltage of the negative side is set at zero. Then the base potential of the TR 17 is turned into a plus level and the TR 17 starts to conduct. Thus the action of a base current switching TR 8 is cut off and at the same time the action of a main control TR 6 is also cut of. Then the actions of the subsequent circuits are stopped. This prevents the unstable working, the breakdown, etc. of a tracking power supply circuit for safe protection. Thus the reliability of the circuit is improved.
