Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any detachment of a safety valve by placing an inner lid to which the safety valve is attached over the whole cells and using a top sealing lid with a valve guard to form a sealed structure. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust hole 2 for batch evacuation and liquid injection holes 7 each for one cell are formed on an inner lid 1 made of a synthetic resin, and a safety valve 3 is attached on the exhaust hole 2. Arrow (A) indicates the direction of gas flow when the gas produced within the battery is discharged through the safety valve 3. Although a given amount of a liquid electrolyte is poured into each cell through the liquid injection hole 7 and then the safety valve 3 is attached to the exhaust hole 2, since the exhaust hole 2 forms a continuous space to the external atmosphere through the injection holes 7, no pressure difference arises between the inside and the outside of the battery. Therefore, there is no possibility for the safety valve 3 to detach from the exhaust hole 2.
