Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a developed image having high image quality and high image density by specifying the space between a latent image carrying body and developer carrying body and placing magnetic particles and toner particles in an alternating electric field so that the toner particles are transferred from the surface of the developer carrying body to an electrostatic latent image carrying body.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic particles 27 and toner particles 28 are deposited on the developer carrying body 22 provided in proximity to the electrostatic latent image carrying body 1. The magnetic particles and toner particles are placed in the alternating electric field in the developing part so that the toner particles are transferred from the surface of the developer carrying body to the electrostatic latent image carrying body. The straight line connecting the min. distance between the latent image carrying body and the developer carrying body, designated as G1, the min. space therebetween as g1mm, and the space between the parallel lines apart by 2mm from the line G1 and the intersected point of the latent image carrying body and he developer carrying body as g2mm satisfy g2-g1>0.25. The development with the high image density and high developing efficiency is thus made possible.
