Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a developed image having a high image density by impressing an alternating electric field to a developing part and specifying the volume ratio of magnetic particles in a developing with respect to the volume ratio of the magnetic particles in the region in a developing vessel near the outlet side where a developer carrying body emerges from the inside of the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The developer carrying body 22 for carrying a toner layer 28 and magnetic particles 27 in the developing vessel 21 is conducted to the developing part to develop an electrostatic image in the developing part. The alternating electric field is impressed to the developing part and the volume ratio of the magnetic particles in the developing part, designated as Vd, with respect to the volume ratio V of the magnetic particles in the developing part near the outlet side where the developer carrying body emerges from the vessel is specified to 0.1≤Vd/V≤1.0, more preferably, 02≤Vd/V≤0.8.
