Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an illegal copy by intentionally forming defective sectors cut off on the way in a track and inserting other sectors into the positions of the defective sectors as interruptions. CONSTITUTION:The array constitution of a format signal is provided with defective sectors F5-F7 cut of on the way and shorter than length N. The sectors F5-F7 are inserted into normal sectors as interruptions, the sector F5 is hierarchically interrupted with the sector F6 and the F6 is also hierarchically interrupted with the sector F7. These sectors generates an apparent difference from the ordinary format, and even if the same format is obtained, a floppy disk controller can not recognize the sectors F6-F7. The total number of bits of the sectors F5-F7 are set up so as to exceed the recording limit on a track by controlling the total number of bits to disable copying.

In order to maintain compatibility, the physical format of disks (especially magnetic disks, floppy disks, etc.) is generally the same as shown in Figure 1, although there are slight differences between computer system manufacturers and models. Physical format is used. In addition, hardware systems that are designed to use these physical formats are produced and provided (especially floppy disk controllers (rDC)), although there are slight differences between manufacturers.
A physical format as shown in FIG. 1A%B had to be created, and it did not have the functions described in this invention, nor did any embodiments of this invention exist.

F"5. F6 and F7 are broken sectors that do not correspond to the length N (and while conventional physical formats inevitably generate discontinuities in drive operation as signals), in this invention, during read operation, In order to ensure that any bit can be read reliably, it is recorded as a reliable signal without causing a single peak shift. In this respect, there is a clear difference between the conventional format and the format according to the present invention. Because it is not, it is impossible to copy \Even if it is analyzed and the same format is used, it will be 1F

Therefore, the configuration is such that copying is impossible in any case.

Furthermore, in the case of floppy disks, etc., (1) the writing start and end points in the conventional format are based on the physical hole positions of the disk, but according to the format and signal recording method of this invention, (1) writing starts and ends at any arbitrary position. You can place points.

The recording signal on the disk has a certain pattern called FM% MF'M, in which one data bit and a clock bit are mixed, but this pattern changes when the write current is cut off (the head moves away from the disk surface) It is destroyed and this point becomes a discontinuity point.

In the conventional format, the above-mentioned points occur, but GAPO1GAP does not affect the data part.
4. Exists in the region of GaF2, etc. The special format of this invention also allows data to exist in a data area that has not been seen before. The recording can be performed by arbitrarily generating discontinuous points by increasing or decreasing one or both of one data bit and one clock bit by adding, deleting, or synchronizing them.

If you copy a disc in this state, the discontinuous points that are uncertain data will be copied and recorded as certain data among certain uncertain data. After that, a CRC error will occur, but the discontinuity will be recorded. It becomes impossible to reproduce it as uncertain data as a point. If this format is used, the original disc (in the case of an original disc) will be read as different data each time it is read, but the copied disc (in the case of an original disc) will be read as the same data each time it is read.

In the conventional format recording method, a discontinuous signal is always generated in GaF2 immediately after CRC, but in the format of the present invention, a reliable signal is recorded. Therefore, since the original version of this format contains proper data, if it is copied, one piece of data will be destroyed. This disparity makes it easy to take measures to prevent copying.
