Claims

[Claims for Utility Model Registration] An inkjet printer that records characters and figures by jetting liquid ink from an ink jetting nozzle supported by a carriage that moves in a direction parallel to the surface of recording paper and depositing it on the recording paper. In the jet printer, a locking member that engages directly with the cartridge or indirectly through a member that moves integrally with the cartridge to prevent the carriage from moving; and a locking member that prevents the movement of the cartridge; a cover member that closely contacts the front surface to isolate the ink jet nozzle from outside air; a link mechanism that moves the cover member to an operating position in close contact with the front surface when moving to an operating position where it engages with the carriage; and a link mechanism that moves the engaging member and the cover member to the operating position. An injection nozzle cover device for an inkjet printer, comprising: an elastic member that biases the inkjet printer in a direction; and a manual operation member that is connected to the link mechanism and operates the link mechanism in a direction that opposes the biasing force of the elastic member.
