Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate aberration efficiently over the whole screen by constituting the 2nd lens group of the 2-1th meniscus-like lens turning its convex surface to an object side and having a negative refractive power and the 2-2th meniscus-like lens turning its convex surface to an image side and having negative refractive force which are arranged successively from the object side. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd-lens group is constituted with two lenses having the negative refractive force so that a lens having positive refractive force is not included, Petzval's sum is prevented from an increase in a negative direction and the variation of a curve on the image surface is reduced over the whole power modification range. Since the negative meniscus lens turning its convex surface to the object side and the negative meniscus lens turning its concave surface to the object side are symmetrically constituted each other, the aberrations of respective lenses are offset each other and the generation of the aberration can be suppressed at a small level. Consequently, a small zoom lens reducing the variation of the curve on the image surface due to a power modification and efficiently compensating the aberration over the whole screen can be obtained.
