Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to keep water at a prescribed temperature even when solar heat is not available such as at night, by providing a heater for heating water in a heat accumulating tank and two temperature sensors for detecting water temperatures at a position above the heater and at a position below the heater. CONSTITUTION:When solar heat cannot be utilized, such as at night, and a hot water apparatus has become not to be driven, the temperature of water in a heat accumulating tank 2 gradually lowers. The temperature of water in the upper part of the heat accumulating tank is detected by a temperature sensor 19, and if the temperature is not more than a set temperature, an electric heater 4 is made in the state of operation by a heater controller 20 and the water in the heat accumulating tank 2 is heated by the heater 4. When the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 19 becomes higher than the set temperature, the electric heater 4 becomes in the off state. Thus even at night, the temperature of water in the heat accumulating tank 2 can be kept at or above a constant temperature at all times.
