Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the short pass of a medium and to improve heat transmission performance by mutually connecting neighboring plates at their outer rims and their openings and by providing baffles between the rugged part and the outer rim of a plate. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger is composed of two kinds of plates 11A, 11B which are alternatingly stacked. There are openings 13A-16A, 13B-16B that lead the medium to a flow passage at four corners of each plate. The plate material at flat parts 18A, 18B having no rugged part between the heating surfaces 12A, 12B and rims 17A, 17B of the plates 11A, 11B is depressed at a regular interval to form multiple baffles 19A, 19B. When the neighboring plates 17A, 17B are mutually connected by brazing, small spaces (a) between the neighboring plates are filled by the brazing material to form baffles 19A, 19B, fill-in parts (a) and space (b) in an alternating manner. As a result, the short pass of the medium is prevented, and the heat transmission performance is improved because the baffles effectively contribute to the heat transmission.
