Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition which forms an adhesive tape, etc. safely and with good processability, and is capable of forming a self-adhesive layer having good water resistance, by making a hydrosol from a self-adhesive composition containing a specified photo-setting copolymer and a photosensitizer with an alkali and water.
CONSTITUTION: An alkali and water are added to a composition which contains a photo-setting copolymer made by reacting an acrylic copolymer of a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000W10,000, obtained by the copolymerization of 98W10wt% principal monomer containing an alkyl (meth)acrylate, 2W30wt% copolymerizable unsaturated monomer containing acidic groups, and 0W60wt% copolymerizable unsaturated monomer containing active hydrogen groups other than the above-mentioned acidic groups, with a compound containing (meth)acryloyl groups and functional groups capable of reacting with the above-mentioned acidic groups or other active hydrogen groups, in such a proportion as to have the acidic groups remaining in the copolymer after the reaction, and a photosensitizer, to neutralize part or the whole of the acidic groups. A self-adhesive hydrosol wherein a photo-setting polymer and a photosensitizer are stably dispersed in water as particles of an average diameter of 0.01W0.1μm is obtained.
