BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Conventionally, preferable treatments for skin defects such as burns and dermabrasion wounds have been a major issue in the field of plastic surgery and dermatology, and many materials have been investigated as wound covering and protective materials. For example, nylon and polyester are two synthetic materials.

These include formalized polyvinyl alcohol sponges, gels of block copolymers of ethylene oxide and polyoxypropylene glycol, or "Sofuratul" gauze (Nippon Roussel) impregnated with antibiotic-containing ointment, as well as biological materials. Examples of materials include fibrin membranes, plasma membranes, non-woven collagen fibers (product name: Soy Pack, sold by Meiji Seika), and Bosin skin, which is made by sterilizing and freeze-drying the dermal layer of the back of pigs. In other words, the general function of a wound dressing is to prevent the loss of biological components from the wound surface until new skin is formed.
It helps prevent infection, granulation, and epithelial formation, and for this purpose, it needs strength and adhesion to the affected area.

It is necessary to have properties such as non-antigenicity and ability to promote new branch growth. However, conventional synthetic materials have poor water absorption, exudate adsorption, and moisture permeability among these properties, while those made from natural materials have poor 2 strength, exudate adsorption, etc. In the case of wounds, it had the disadvantage that it would turn to mush within a few days after treatment. Therefore, when performing wound protection with conventional synthetic or natural products.

As a result, granulation and epithelial formation were not sufficiently performed. For example, burns are classified into first-degree burns, residual second-degree burns, deep first-degree burns, and second-degree burns depending on the severity of the wound. Furthermore, the treatment of skin harvest wounds after skin grafting is also limited to intermediate-thickness skin grafting.

The present inventors have found that the adhesiveness to the affected area and the adsorption of exudate are good, so that exudate does not accumulate, does not dissolve or cause single-member wounds until the end of treatment, and preferable granulation and epithelial formation occur. As a result of intensive research to develop a wound covering material such as 8W, we found that nonwoven fabrics or fiber sheets made of chitin fibers, which have a property of being highly swellable in aqueous acetic acid, are excellent as wound covering materials. Heading 1 This invention has been achieved.

That is, the present invention provides a wound covering made of a nonwoven fabric or a fiber sheet made of chitin fibers that becomes a swollen body whose cross-sectional area is 10 times or more the original cross-sectional area in a 2 V/V% acetic acid aqueous solution at 25°C. It is a protective material.

In the present invention, chitin fibers that become a swollen product with a cross-sectional area of 10 times or more of the original cross-sectional area in a 2 V/V% acetic acid aqueous solution at 25°C are 1. For example, chitin fibers are prepared by spinning a dope made of chitin. After formation, it can be prepared by subjecting it to a suitable alkali treatment. Here, chitin refers to poly(N-acetyl-D-glycosamine) obtained by treating the exoskeletons of crustaceans and insects with hydrochloric acid and hydrochloric acid to separate and purify the protein and calcium components, or poly(N-acetyl-D-glycosamine) or their like. Examples of chitin derivatives include those in which acetylglycosamine groups are partially deacetylated, etherified products, esterified products, carboxymethylated products, hydroxymethylated products, and 0-ethylated products. In an aqueous solution of 2 V/V% acetic acid at 25° C., an alkali treatment to provide a swollen chitin fiber with a cross-sectional area of 10 times or more than the original cross-sectional area is carried out using an alkali such as hydric soda. This can be carried out by immersing chitin fibers as described above in a solution containing the same. Preferred conditions for the alkali treatment are a 5-60 W/V% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and a temperature of 10-120°C for 1 hour or more. When a fiber is immersed in a 2 V/V% acetic acid aqueous solution at 25° C., its cross-sectional area becomes 10 isa or more of its original cross-sectional area while maintaining its fiber form.

In addition, normal chitin fiber before alkali treatment is heated at 25°C.
In a V/V% acetic acid aqueous solution, its cross-sectional area only increases by about twice the original cross-sectional area at most. The treated fibers are neutralized with acid in an aqueous solution, thoroughly washed, and dried.

Non-woven fabric refers to these fibers that are cut or made into a continuous sheet, and generally known methods can be used to manufacture non-woven fabric from alkali-treated chitin fibers. I can do it. For example, 5 fibers
It is possible to create a nonwoven fabric by cutting it to a length of ~20 mm and using a general-purpose sheet cloak. In this case, the cut fibers are dispersed in water with a binder, such as undrawn fibers of polyvinyl alcohol, and the water is removed from the bottom through a filter medium to form a laminate of fibers on the filter medium.

A nonwoven fabric can be created by applying pressure and drying, and a continuous sheet mat can also be created using the same principle. The thickness of the nonwoven fabric used as the wound dressing of the present invention is determined depending on the case to which it is applied, and is generally 0.05 to 1 mm thick.

This is an innovative product that reduces the accumulation of exudate in the affected area, prevents dissolution due to body fluids even after long-term use, and maintains the affected area in a moderately infiltrated state, resulting in successful regeneration of the new skin layer. be. Therefore, it can be used not only for residual burns of grade 1, intermediate thickness skin graft skin harvest wounds, but also deep pit burns, which could not be healed with conventional wound dressings, and skin harvest wounds of thick split thickness skin grafts. Can be used very effectively.

The patient was a 43-year-old man.The patch was applied to a skin harvest wound on his back, and the upper part was protected with cotton gauze. After 5 days, a large amount of exudate was observed on the gauze surface and the upper cotton gauze surface, and there was little exudate in the affected area, and the formation of granulation was observed.
After 13 days, new skin was formed, indicating that the affected area was healing well.

Comparative Example 1 Chitosan powder (Kyowa Yushi (KK) Fronac N-A)
was dissolved in a 2 V/V% acetic acid aqueous solution to obtain a 7% by weight chitosan dope. This dope was put into a tank and transported under pressure using a gear pump, and the pore diameter was 0°07mmΦ, 20mm.
IN-strength soda water from the 0-ball nozzle? After discharging it into a liquid and coagulating it, it was taken up with a rotating roll at a speed of 7 m/min and rolled up with a wine goo. After neutralizing and drying the obtained yarn, it was canted into a length of about 8 mm, and 0.5 g of this dried fiber and 0.05 g of unstretched polyvinyl alcohol powder were dispersed in 21 parts of water to make a set of NcL177 terpi. The sheets were made using a standard sheet machine. This sheet (length: 100 mm, width: 100 mm) was sterilized and used as a wound dressing for burns. Specifically, two stickers were applied to the neck of a 43-year-old man who was diagnosed as suffering from deep burns, and the surrounding area was protected with cotton gauze. It was found that two days after healing, the sheet became mushy and dissolved due to the exudate, and did not function as a wound protection material.
