Abstract
PURPOSE: To bring an electrostatic transfer stage close to an image exposure position and to permit exposure without causing dark attenuation after uniform electrostatic charge by forming a transfer paper path and an exposure section while intersecting mutually them and passing the transferred paper through the intersection section.
CONSTITUTION: A belt-like photosensitive medium 1 electrostatically charged uniforms in a corona discharge device 4 is fed to an exposure section 5 for formation of an electrostatic latent image on it. The latent image is then developed in a developing device 12. The visible image on the photosensitive medium 1 is electrostatically transferred in the device 4 onto a paper supplied from a paper feeder outlet 14. With the movement of the photosensitive medium the paper crosses the exposure section 5, separated and thermally fixed by a fixing roller 17 to be discharged into a tray 19. Since the transfer paper is adapted to cross the exposure section 5, the electrostatic charge stage and transfer station can be disposed close to the exposure stage 5, and exposure can be performed without giving rise to dark attenuation after the uniform electrostatic charge to obtain sufficient electrostatic contrast.
