Abstract

PURPOSE:To clarify a border between an image area other than an original image and an original image area by arranging a means for preventing an original image from being projected and formed within a range of the focal depth of an image formation lens on a part of a photosensitive body where an electrostatic latent image other than the original image is formed. CONSTITUTION:Since a holder 44 of an LED array 15 is arranged on an upper part of the part of the photosensitive body 13 where an electrostatic latent image other than the original image is formed, the part is shielded by the holder and an original image CD on the part is not projected and formed on the photosensitive drum 13. Thereby, an original image AB and an image other than the original image which is formed by the LED array 15 are formed as electrostatic latent image. When the LED array 15 does not exist on a short focus lens array 14, all the images AB, CD are projected and formed on the drum 13, but the electrostatic latent image other than the original image is not formed. Under said constitution, an image other than the original image can be clearly formed independently of the original image.

All of the methods described above form an electrostatic latent image other than the original image on the photoreceptor, but the method described in the former method reduces the exposure amount of the original image so that the electrostatic charge becomes approximately That is, the potential of the latent image portion is controlled to be lowered from 700V to 350V, and an electrostatic latent image other than the original image is formed using the remaining amount of charge. Therefore, it was impossible to adjust the density of the image, and it could not be used as a copying machine, let alone a printer.

The applicant has already filed an application for an electronic copying machine that can form images other than original images (Japanese Patent Application No. 58-24).
(See No. 1203). In this application, the mounting position of the means for preventing the original image from being projected is not specified. Therefore, it is conceivable that the preventing means is located outside the range of the focal depth of the imaging lens, but if this preventing means is located outside the range of the focal depth of the imaging lens, as illustrated in FIG. 23, If the image other than the original image is blank, the boundary between the area where the original image is formed and the area where the image other than the original image is formed is the so-called 1
The image becomes out of focus and does not become a sharp edge.

(c) Problems to be Solved by the Invention As mentioned above, in the conventional technology, the means for preventing the original image from being projected is sometimes located outside the depth of focus of the imaging lens. Therefore, the boundary between the area where the original image is formed and the area where images other than the original image are formed is not sharp, and in some cases, an extremely unsightly situation may occur.

本発明は斯る従来の難点に鑑みてなされたものである。The present invention has been made in view of these conventional difficulties.

(d) Means for Solving the Problems The present invention provides that an original image is projected and formed by an imaging lens on the surface of a uniformly charged photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image.
An electronic copying machine in which this electrostatic latent image can be completely developed with toner is provided with means for forming an electrostatic latent image other than the original image on the photoconductor, and the electrostatic latent image other than the original image is formed on the photoreceptor. The electronic copying machine is characterized in that the electronic copying machine is provided with means for preventing the document image from being projected within the depth of focus of the imaging lens.

(E) Effect In the present invention, the means for preventing the original image from being projected and formed is located within the range of the focal depth of the imaging lens, so that the area where the original image is formed and the area other than the original image are located within the range of the focal depth of the imaging lens. The boundary between the area and the area where the image is formed becomes clear.

A developing device (19) for developing the electrostatic latent image with toner is provided downstream of the short focus lens array (14). This developing device (19) stores a mixture (developer) (20) of toner and carrier, and this developer (20) is negatively charged toward the photoreceptor drum (13) by a magnet roller (21). At this time, spikes of the developer (20) are formed on the portion of the magnet roller (21) that faces the photoconductor drum (13), and the tip of the spikes touches the photoconductor drum (13). The negatively charged toner adheres to the electrostatic latent image formed with a positive charge, and the original image and other images are developed. (22) is a developer <20>. The developing device (19) contains two types of toner having different components, which will be described later.

The LED array (15) is composed of a group of red LEDs that can be formed by mounting GaAs on a GaAsP base, and has a light emission wavelength of about 6,600. Therefore, photoreceptors suitable for this purpose are limited to amorphous silicone which exhibits long wavelength characteristics and selenium which has a high tellurium content. In this regard, if a green LED playback (wavelength: 5650) is used, the range of types of photoreceptors that can be used will be expanded.

When a plurality of ED arrays (15a) (15b) are provided, a plurality of electrostatic latent images other than the original image can be formed in parallel (see FIGS. 23(E) and 23(F)). Figure 17 shows that the LED array (15) is connected to the short focus lens row (1
FIG. 4) is a perspective view showing an embodiment fixedly installed in FIG. In this embodiment, a plate-shaped holder (59) is fixed at one end of the short-focus lens array (14), and this holder (59) is used to protect the area where the electrostatic latent image other than the original image is formed. It also serves as a light shielding plate. FIG. 18 is a side view corresponding to FIG. 17, in which the LED array (15) is fixed to the right end of the holder (59). (58) is a dedicated short focus lens array for forming an electrostatic latent image other than the original image. If the LED array (15) is fixed to the short focus lens row (14) in this way, it is not possible to change the formation position of the electrostatic latent image other than the original image, but the LED array (15) can be moved. There is no need for a mechanism or control circuit for this purpose, and the entire system can be made compact.

When printing with an LED array in a printer or the like, the black print can be formed only on the portion corresponding to the light emitting part of the LED by performing reversal development. However, in the case of an electronic copying machine, when reverse development is performed, the black and white of the original image is also reversed, which causes a problem. Therefore, in the case of the present invention, when forming white characters etc., it is sufficient to make the LED array emit light corresponding to the characters, but when forming ordinary characters, it is sufficient to make the LED array emit light corresponding to the background. It is necessary to make the LED array emit light.

(G) Effects of the Invention In the present invention, a means is provided to prevent the original image from being projected onto a portion of the photoconductor where an electrostatic latent image other than the original image can be formed. It is possible to clearly form images other than the original image independently of the original image, and it is also possible to easily adjust the density of the original image.
