Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the chamber with the accuracy higher than in the conventional practice in thick plate rolling by changing the wedge rate (edge quantity/ average plate thickness) of a rolling material before and after rolling. CONSTITUTION:The wedge quantity h1df obtd. by inputting the outputs from detectors 3, 3' for the camber shape (curvature distribution x1) and right and left thicknesses detected 5 during or after the rolling in, for example, the pass just before the final pass is fed to an arithmetic unit 7. The change of the target wedge rate DELTAPSI12<t> in the rolling stage of the final pass and the target wedge quantity R2df<t> after the rolling are calculated and stored according to the prescribed equation together with the preset elongation lambda, plate width (b), average plate thickness h1 before the final pass and the average plate thickness h2 after the final pass.
